Estância Paraizo, a winery owned by the Mercio family, coming from Portugal, from São Jorge Island, Archipelago of the Azores, to Rio Grande do Sul in mid 1790, sought in this project a history of heredity, heroism, homage and pioneering spirit . The property holds the first record of the Shiraz do Brasil varietal, which defines the initial product briefing: “emphasize that we are the first Shiraz vineyard registered in Brazil”. In researching the history of the winery we discovered that its first founder was Camilo Mercio, a war hero who was also awarded the Order of the Military Rose as one of the knights of the personal guard of Emperor Dom Pedro II. The Final Concept brings together the two ideas of pioneering in a scenario full of elements of history, mystery and origin.
